The school was established in 1981 and Ram Devi started it with some students. However, due to her old age, she donated the school to Arya Samaj, Ranchi. So, Arya Samaj, Ranchi started the school in the year 1981 in the name of D.A.V Nandraj Public School, Burdwan Compound with some students and two teachers only. It started with 2 rooms and about 25 children, under the able guidance of 3 great visionaries Late Narayan Das Grover ( Director D.A.V. Zones), Late Master Tek Chand Arya & Late Madan Gopal Sethi.

At the initial stages, classes were held up to standard two. With two successive classes the school got upgraded, every year. However, on the parents’ request, the school took 7.29 acres of land on lease at Bariatu. Later, it also attained the C.B.S.E affiliation.

The school finally got formal recognition up to class VIII.

The school scored continuously well at class VIII Boards (Manik Kara, All India Topper) and started gearing up for starting classes IX and X, with the support of many parents and guardians.

Class got its Affiliation in the year 2003. Class XII followed suit with its Affiliation in 2004.

The entire Class X (2004 – 2005) batch of the school acquired First division marks. The class XII scores of this school were also very good.

The school excelled in every field.

Its display cabinets are decorated over the years with trophies and certificates.
